Time Capsule Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Stratara Ltd ("Stratara", "we", "us") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information about you when you use the Time Capsule service at createtimecapsule.com ("Time Capsule", "the Service").

By creating a Time Capsule, participating in an interview, or using our Service, you acknowledge that you have read this Privacy Policy and understand how we process your information.

1. Who We Are and Scope of This Policy

Time Capsule is an AI-powered interview and story generation service operated by Stratara Ltd, an Israeli company. The Service allows you to participate in guided AI interviews and receive professionally narrated audio stories based on your responses.

This Privacy Policy applies to:

• The Time Capsule web application at createtimecapsule.com;
• The backend services and APIs that power Time Capsule;
• Time Capsule-specific pages and support channels on stratara.ai.

This Privacy Policy should be read together with the Time Capsule Terms of Service.

2. Key Principles at a Glance

We want Time Capsule's privacy approach to be understandable even if you do not read every detail. In summary:

2.1 Your Stories Are Yours

The stories we generate from your interviews belong to you. We create them for you, deliver them to you, and then delete the source material from our systems.

2.2 30-Day Data Deletion

We delete your interview recordings, transcripts, and processing data within 30 days of your story being delivered. Your final story files are yours to keep; we do not retain copies after deletion.

2.3 AI Processing Is Essential to the Service

Time Capsule uses AI to conduct interviews (via Edmund S. Grey, our AI interviewer), transcribe your responses, and generate your written story. This processing is fundamental to how the Service works.

2.4 No Sale of Personal Data

We do not sell your personal data and we do not share it with advertisers for targeted advertising.

2.5 One-Time Purchase, No Ongoing Data Collection

Time Capsule is a one-time purchase. We do not continuously collect data from you. Once your story is delivered and the retention period passes, we have minimal data about you.

• Purchase timestamp – when you bought the Service.

4.2 Interview Content

The core of Time Capsule involves you sharing personal stories and memories. We process:

• Voice recordings – your spoken responses during the AI interview;
• Transcripts – text versions of your spoken responses created through speech-to-text processing;
• Interview metadata – timestamps, session identifiers, question sequences.

This content is inherently personal and may include sensitive information about your life, family, experiences, beliefs, and relationships. You control what you share during the interview.

4.3 Generated Content

Based on your interview, we generate:

• Written story – a narrative crafted from your interview responses (approximately 5,000+ words);
• Narrated audio – a professionally voiced recording of your story;
• Processing artifacts – intermediate drafts and working files created during story generation.

4.4 Technical Data

To operate the Service securely, we may process:

• IP address and network metadata;
• Browser and device information;
• Service logs and error reports.

4.5 Data We Do Not Collect

Time Capsule does not:

• Access your contacts, photos, or other device data;
• Track you across websites;
• Use advertising SDKs;
• Store your payment card details (handled by our payment processor).

5. How We Use Your Information

5.1 Providing the Service

• Conduct the AI interview via Edmund S. Grey;
• Transcribe your voice recordings;
• Generate your written story;
• Create the narrated audio version;
• Deliver the final story to you via email.

5.2 AI Processing

AI processing is essential to Time Capsule. We use AI to:

• Power Edmund S. Grey's interview conversations;
• Convert speech to text;
• Analyse and structure your responses;
• Generate coherent narrative prose;
• Create the audio narration.

This necessarily means sharing your interview content with AI service providers (see section 7).

5.3 Order Fulfilment and Communication

Legal basis: Performance of a contract; legitimate interests

We use your email address to:

• Send order confirmations;
• Deliver your completed story;
• Communicate about service issues or delays;
• Respond to support requests.

5.4 Security and Fraud Prevention

6. Data Retention

6.1 The 30-Day Deletion Commitment

We delete your interview data within 30 days of delivering your completed story. This includes:

• Any intermediate files created during production.

6.2 What We Retain

After the 30-day deletion period, we retain only:

• Order records – email address, purchase date, order ID (retained for accounting and legal compliance, typically 7 years);
• Aggregate analytics – anonymised usage statistics that cannot identify you.

6.3 Your Story Files

We deliver your story to you. After the retention period, we do not keep copies of your story files. You are responsible for saving and backing up your story.

6.4 Early Deletion Requests

You may request deletion of your data before the 30-day period by contacting us at [email protected]. Note that if we delete your data before your story is complete, we will be unable to finish producing your story.

7. AI Subprocessors and Third-Party Processing

Time Capsule uses third-party AI providers to deliver the Service. This necessarily means certain content is shared with those providers.

7.1 Types of AI Processing

We use AI subprocessors for:

• Speech-to-text – converting your voice recordings to text;
• Conversational AI – powering Edmund S. Grey's interview capabilities;
• Text generation – creating your narrative story;
• Text-to-speech – generating the narrated audio.

7.2 How We Choose AI Providers

We select AI providers based on:

• Quality and capability;
• Privacy practices and data handling policies;
• Availability of enterprise/API access with appropriate controls;
• Contractual commitments regarding data use.

We use commercial API access (not consumer products) where we can configure privacy settings and where providers commit not to train on customer data.

7.3 Human Review

We do not routinely have humans review your interview content. In rare cases, we may review content to:

• Investigate reported problems or errors;
• Respond to support requests you initiate;
• Address legal or safety concerns.

8. How We Share Information

8.1 Service Providers

We share data with vendors who help operate Time Capsule:

• AI subprocessors (as described above);
• Cloud hosting and infrastructure;

These providers process data under our instructions and for providing their services to us.

8.2 No Sale of Personal Data

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your data with advertisers.

• We do not "share" personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising;

If you are in the EEA/UK/Switzerland, you may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. We encourage you to contact us first.

11. International Data Transfers

Stratara is based in Israel. Our service providers may process data in other countries (including the United States).

Where applicable laws require safeguards for international transfers, we use appropriate measures such as contractual protections.

Time Capsule interviews may naturally involve sensitive topics (family history, health, beliefs, significant life events). You control what you share.

We process this content only to provide the Service—creating your story. We do not:

• Use sensitive information for advertising;
• Build profiles for other purposes;
• Share sensitive content beyond what is necessary for Service delivery.

13. Children

Time Capsule is intended for users aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If we learn we have collected such data, we will delete it.

If you are creating a Time Capsule with or for a minor, you are responsible for ensuring you have appropriate authority to do so.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will:
